Fall is the one of the best seasons to enjoy decadent drinks, desserts, and dinners. We took a loop around LesserEvil to find out if fall favorites go beyond apple ciders and pumpkin pies! Here are the yummy, treasured treats we should be on the lookout for!
“We make all kinds of hearty vegetable soups! They are a bit of a dump-the-kitchen-sink-in-there style!” – Charles, President + CEO
“Apple Cider Mule! I made this for the team at a recent work happy hour. It was a hit with everyone – both the alcohol and non-alcohol versions! The key is to get fresh apple cider (we opted for our local Stew Leonard’s). Even if you decide to skip the vodka, I promise it’s still super tasty + such a treat!
Here’s my recipe (makes 1 Apple Cider Mule):
- 2 ounces (¼ cup) vodka *optional*
- 2 ounces (¼ cup) apple cider
- ½ ounce (1 tablespoon) fresh lime juice
- 3 ounces (6 tablespoons) ginger beer
For the garnish: lime wedge, thyme sprig or apple slice, sprinkle of cinnamon.” – Jess, HR
“I have two! Apple pie mule (It is Fall in a cocktail!) and apple cider donuts, of course! My favorite places to get them are either Blue Jay Orchards in Bethel, CT, or Sweet Madeline’s out of Rocky Hill, CT. They are the best apple cider donuts I’ve ever had!!” – Marylup, Field Marketing Specialist
“For a Fall drink, I love a good hot mulled wine. It reminds me of the start of Fall, falling leaves, and the first chill in the air. For food, nothing beats homemade chicken soup. It brings back memories of me coming home from school, and Mom having a pot of soup on the stove. I miss her dearly.” – Ed, Western Regional Sales Manager
“Hands down – anything pumpkin spice flavor! Especially our Pumpkin Spice Popcorn, made fresh here at LesserEvil.”-Monina, Director of Finance
“What isn’t a favorite when it comes to fall foods? I will tell you this: I recently had this amazing, hearty, vegetarian quinoa salad that was perfect in every way! If you’re looking for something to bring to your next potluck dinner or Friendsgiving, I highly recommend making this.” -Charlotte, Executive Assistant + Creative Content Writer “Apple Crisp! It’s super easy, delicious, and a way to use all the apples we end up with from the multiple farm trips we take with the kids. My go to is Grossy Pelosi “Any Fruit Crisp.” I also love that he’s a CT-born chef!” – Caitlin, Director, Digital + Brand Marketing “Any kind of pumpkin spice latte! The smell instantly reminds me of fall. Not gonna lie, one of my favorite’s is Starbucks!” -Nicole, Digital Community + Content Coordinator “I am a full-on beverage girl, so I absolutely adore fall-flavored drinks! Whether that is a cinnamon-spiced latte or a super-spiced chai, I am ALL for it. Fall is the best time to get cozy, and there is no better pairing than a festive beverage and a good book! *cue overly dramatic folky fall music and dimly lit cafes*. I am a dreadful cook, but I can share my favorite cafe in my sweet, little town! Bobo’s has the best frozen mocha a girl can dream of and Tazza Cafe has one of the best iced chai lattes I have ever had (make sure you get oat milk)!! Check them out in Ridgefield, CT!!” -Annalee, Sales Marketing Specialist “Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest beer and homemade Chicken soup. So good!!!” -Dan, Regional Sales Manager “My favorite fall meal includes chicken breast, with paprika, onion, mushrooms, in white sauce with spiced rice, roasted yellow plantains, and salad on the side. Add some red wine and napoleon for dessert, and this makes it complete! This reminds me a lot of my home in Colombia. These are just a couple of recipes that my mom taught me:
For the dessert:
“Snakehead (fish) is one of my favorite main courses to spice up in the fall. The meat is sweet to the taste and not that fishy! I’d love to provide a recipe but… I’m pretty sure my family would disown me!” -Kevin, Warehouse Floor Lead
