When you wake up in the morning, before you check your phone, stretch, get dressed, and prep for the day, do you say a prayer, mantra, or affirmation to yourself? Do you send out a special intention that you could use as guidance throughout the day when stressful or off-balanced situations arise? There are so many rewards to saying daily affirmations, including better sleep, stress management, creativity, self-esteem, and more. In fact, daily affirmations teach your brain to rethink about your surroundings, environments, and settings in a completely new way. It’s some pretty powerful stuff, and super easy (and free) to do!
We took a loop around LesserEvil to find out what affirmations our powerhouses say to themselves on the daily.
“Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better! Today I wish to grow, to surrender, and love more deeply.” – Charles, President + CEO
“Simplify to Amplify” I am constantly repeating this mantra to myself, especially as LesserEvil grows its headcount and our HR Team focuses on ways we can affect positive change for as many of our team members as possible. There is a natural tendency to over-complicate something, especially when we are in the weeds of problem solving. I find the simpler the solution, the more powerful the outcome. And the more powerful the outcome, the stronger our team can be! –Jess, HR Manager
“Win the seconds, the minutes, the hours; then the day is won!” -Carmine, Manufacturing Manager
Every night when I put my girls to bed, we say the following: “I’m brave, I’m strong, I’m smart, I’m funny, I’m beautiful, I’m creative, I’m a good person, I’m loved, I’m kind, I’m awesome, I’m happy, and I can do anything.” They are both under the age of five, and it’s important to me they know and believe that they possess each one of those qualities. –Allen, Warehouse Operations Manager
I have two! “Be the light.” + “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.” –Marylup, Field Marketing Specialist
“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” -Ed, Western Regional Sales Manager
“Life’s not short. You just have to do more!“ -Grant, Operations Analyst
“Today is going to be a great day. I can, and I will.” -Amanda F, Art Director
“Take a deep breath. No matter how hard things seem right now, you can and will get through this.” Monina M, Director of Finance
“I am grateful for everything I have, and I am exactly where I need to be.” I have a tendency to overthink and worry about the future – what will change (for good or for worse) and how I can avoid unforeseen problems and unpleasant situations. When I say this mantra, it puts me right back into the present time and makes me realize that I am extremely blessed and content with what I have – my health, my home, my family, my job, etc. –Charlotte D, Executive Assistant + Creative Content Writer
“I am loved and supported. I love myself, and I’m focused on healing.” (Then I high-five myself). I sometimes go through periods of uncertainty or doubt, and these affirmations help me remember I have everything I need to live a happy, successful life. I feel it’s important to have a support system that includes many friends but also reassure myself that I am loved and that I’m not alone. –Manny, Art Director, Packaging
“Every day is a new day to learn something new.”-Katherine, First Shift Floor Manager
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care!!” -Mike – Director of Sales, National
